Mandate Order Production Chain Guide

If a resource is not increasing, trace one broken link in order: raw source, selected processing recipe, assigned workers, output storage, logistics, downstream consumption and—when the output is farmed—the current seasonal state.

ON THIS PAGE

Quick answer: trace the first failed handoff

If a resource is not increasing, do not add more buildings blindly. Trace the item backward from the output you need, then follow the chain forward through these visible checks.

  1. Source — confirm the exact raw input exists and is available to the correct processor.
  2. Processing recipe — confirm the building is the right processor and the intended output is selected. A production building may expose several outputs while running only its selected work.
  3. Workers — confirm the source, processor and relevant carrying step have assigned Workers able to reach the work.
  4. Output and storage — inspect the processor's local output, accepted destination and any full or blocked state.
  5. Logistics — follow the input and output between their actual locations rather than relying on a city-wide total.
  6. Downstream consumption — check whether construction, equipment production, fuel use or another consumer is taking the output as it appears.
  7. Seasonal state — for farming, confirm Cultivation, Maintain or Fallow, and Autumn Harvest instead of diagnosing the field as a continuous factory.

Production Chain Map

These lanes show verified or clearly version-labelled dependency relationships, not quantities, cycle times or optimal building counts. Exact English wood-item labels remain localization-sensitive, so generic semantic labels are used where the current English UI could not be verified independently.

Wood processing

  1. Raw timber source
  2. Sawmill-type processor + selected output
  3. Board, rod or frame-type wood material

The August 7 developer-account guide documents these branches, but its Pioneer/Vanguard contribution makes old staffing and building ratios version-sensitive and unsuitable as current formulas.

Fuel and charcoal branch

  1. Raw timber source
  2. Fuel or firewood branch
  3. Charcoal branch

Use the exact output shown by the current recipe selector; this archive does not manufacture an English UI name where localization is uncertain.

Iron processing

  1. Iron ore
  2. Iron ingot
  3. Iron ingot + clay → refined iron

This relationship comes from the version-sensitive developer-account guide. Verify the selected current recipe and both inputs in the live building panel.

Seasonal food

  1. Spring Cultivation
  2. Summer Maintain or Fallow
  3. Autumn Harvest → storage and distribution

Farming changes by season and cannot be reduced to a continuous workshop throughput line.

Wood and Timber Chain

Start with the target output
“Wood” can refer to the raw source, a sawmill-derived construction material or a fuel branch. Name the exact output shown in your current UI before following the chain.
Sawmill-derived branch
The developer-account guide documents raw timber feeding a sawmill-type processor with board, rod or pole, and frame-type wood outputs. Because the source is Chinese and localization remains patch-sensitive, these are semantic labels rather than invented exact English item names.
Fuel branch
The same guide documents a separate raw-timber path into a fuel or firewood stage and then a charcoal stage. Owning raw timber does not prove either selected processing stage is active.
Downstream drain
Construction, logistics components and advanced production can draw from wood-derived materials. If an output total stays flat, inspect its next consumer as well as the processor.

Logs or wood materials not increasing?

  1. Identify the exact current-UI output you need; do not treat every timber, board, frame or fuel item as interchangeable.
  2. Confirm the raw timber source is operating and that its stock can be located.
  3. Confirm the correct processor exists and has the intended output selected.
  4. Check assigned Workers and whether they can reach the source and processor.
  5. Inspect processor input, local output and the accepted downstream storage for a full or blocked state.
  6. Follow the carrying route and Post Station support where relevant; the Post Station gives carts to affected Workers but does not haul items itself.
  7. Watch the next consumer. Production can be working while another chain consumes the output as quickly as it appears.

Iron and Refined Iron Chain

First stage
The version-sensitive developer-account guide maps iron ore to iron ingot. Raw ore in the city does not prove that the ingot-producing stage is selected, staffed or supplied.
Refined stage
The same guide maps iron ingot plus clay to refined iron. This is a second processing relationship: simply owning iron ore is not the same as supplying both current inputs to the refined-iron recipe.
Downstream materials
The guide connects iron-derived materials to nails and more advanced equipment or military production. Because exact English labels and current recipes can change, inspect the current selected output before tracing a named downstream item.

Why can't I produce refined iron?

  1. Confirm that iron ore has actually passed through the first stage into iron ingot.
  2. Locate the iron ingot at the processor that exposes the refined-iron output; a city-wide total is not destination-specific availability.
  3. Locate the second documented input, clay, at that same active processing step.
  4. Confirm the correct processor and refined-iron recipe or output are selected in the current UI.
  5. Check assigned Workers and building-status messages.
  6. Inspect local output and the accepted downstream destination for a full or blocked handoff.
  7. Trace logistics and check whether advanced production is consuming refined iron as it appears.

Food Production Is Not One Continuous Chain

Separate directly gathered food, hunting and processing, and seasonal farming. The current official August 14 note verifies one hunting-processing relationship: 1 Hunted Prey produces 1 Meat, 1 Hide and 1 Sinew at the Slaughterhouse, with an unpublished possible Retainer increase. That isolated recipe does not establish a complete food-output model.

Farming is seasonal. Trace spring Cultivation, the summer Maintain or Fallow state, verified water, fertilizer and weeding needs where applicable, Autumn Harvest, then storage and distribution. A field's expected output is not the same as harvested food available to consumers.

Older Pioneer/Vanguard experience claims about how many crews a food setup supports are withheld. Use the current Farming, Seasons & Fertility guide for recovery steps rather than a fabricated annual output ratio.

Why Production Stops Even When I Have Materials

A visible stockpile proves only that the item exists somewhere. Use the symptom to choose the next live-interface check.

Trace Backward From What You Need

  • Refined iron — start at the desired refined output, then verify the selected refined-iron step, clay and iron ingot at that processor, the upstream iron-ore-to-ingot step, Workers, output destination and downstream drain.
  • A wood-derived material — name the exact current output, confirm its sawmill-type processing branch, then trace raw timber, Workers, output storage, logistics and the next consumer.
  • Charcoal — confirm the current charcoal output first, then trace the fuel or firewood stage and raw timber rather than assuming raw wood skips the intermediate branch.
  • Harvested food — begin at the consumer or store, then trace Autumn Harvest, the summer field state and spring Cultivation. Do not diagnose it as a continuous factory recipe.

Production chain questions

Why are my resources not increasing in Mandate Order?
Trace the exact item through its source, selected recipe, assigned Workers, local output, storage, logistics and next consumer. For farmed food, also verify the current seasonal state.
Why is production stopped even though I have raw materials?
Raw material elsewhere in the city does not prove the active processor can use it. Confirm the exact input at the building, selected output, Workers, output destination and downstream consumption.
How do I make refined iron in Mandate Order?
The version-sensitive developer guide maps iron ore to iron ingot, then iron ingot plus clay to refined iron. Verify both steps and exact current recipe labels in the live UI.
What do logs or raw wood turn into?
The developer-account guide shows sawmill-derived construction materials and a separate fuel-to-charcoal branch. Exact current English names are localization-sensitive, so use the output labels in your current recipe panel.
Why does my wood production keep running out?
Check the raw source, selected wood output, Workers and storage, then watch whether construction, logistics components, fuel or another processor consumes that output immediately.
Why do I have farms but still run out of food?
Farmland existing does not prove Cultivation, summer care, Autumn Harvest or the storage handoff completed. Trace the current field state and downstream distribution.
Is farming continuous all year in Mandate Order?
No. The documented cycle separates spring Cultivation, summer Maintain or Fallow and Autumn Harvest, followed by storage and distribution.
Does Mandate Order Guide have a fixed production ratio calculator?
No. A throughput calculator remains withheld until current-version recipe quantities, cycle times, Worker scaling, storage and transport assumptions are sufficiently verified.
